Calling all Cali Riders

If you've read the FAQ section on the website then you should know what CaliBMX truly is all about. If you haven't, then I will enlighten you now. Our main objective here at CaliBMX is to become a free, easy resource for all of the riders in California or any rider planning to visit the state.

We would like to be able to provide information for every single skate/bikepark in our kickass state. By information we mean: photos, ratings, 360 views, comments, reviews, cops cool or not, pads, locals, etc.

Sounds sick doesn't it? The only problem is the main persons behind CaliBMX, do not have the time or money to make this happen, which means; do not have the ability to travel to each location and collect all of this information. This is why we need the help of Cali locals, to be behind CaliBMX and help create an amazing, resourceful BMX website. Every member who submits legit information, of course, would get some free CaliBMX gear and anything we'd be capable of providing.

Bottom line: if you're reading this right now and ride your local park often. Get descriptive photographs of your park, submit a paragraph review explaining the pros and cons of the park, if possible get a 360 video the best you can, talk about cops, pads, just everything the two paragraphs above cover. Who better to review a park, than a local that rides it constantly?

If we all work together on this we can help create an awesome, free, resourceful BMX website for the state of California. Help us, help each other.

Well I finally got the video from the jam up. Of course I get it up the day everyone goes back to work and school, huh? Oh well sneak online in the library or at work, we all do it anyways, haha.

I'm going to fix up the video section tonight, so all of them have pictures to click on.

Ham Jam Media

I'm driving up to Sacramento with my family tomorrow morning, and I'll be there until Friday. I plan on taking my new laptop and working on the video of the jam on the drive up/while I'm there. I'm planning to have some pictures up tonight as well; Gabe of Modesto got some good pictures and he plans on posting them sometime soon as well.

If you or your friends got any footy or pictures of the jam, feel free to share them! You can actually create an account, and upload them onto the site yourself so you're name will be under the photographs. Or if you made a video send me a link so I can share it with everyone.

Also Jimmy McGann from Modesto, just had surgery on his shoulder yesterday. So we wish him the best, and I'm sure he'll be on his bike even before he's fully healed...that's Jimmy.

Day After

The jam went down today, and there was a good turnout. One guy told me it was the best session he'd ever seen go down at the park. Jimmy kept count, and there were approximately 45 backflips attempts throughout the day. People were hucking themselves all over the place. Garret Adams tried a 1080 on the spine, but came up short. He nailed a 720 though. Jason from Manteca I believe, was doing clean backflip combos into the snake. He came very close to landing a backflip whip, and got a swollen ankle in the process. CJ from Elknuts was killing it, he pulled a whip up the rail, superman on the hip, he basically was tearing it up using the whole park. There was a savage game of footdown, that had people falling all over the place. Overall it was a great day with sick riding everywhere you looked. We got plenty of footy and pictures so I'll get that all up ASAP.

A special thanks to everyone who came out and showed support. Without you guys things like this aren't possible. Thanks again.

Modification

As far as the spine comp, I believe we're going to be changing this, may not even be a spine comp. I'll announce what we're gonna do the day of. I have all the prizes and come ready to ride if you want some really good stuff. I'm going to leave this a secret until the day of as well. We also have gotten the refreshments so should be a great day.

Directions to Modesto park

Just in case some of you aren't sure how the hell to get to the park in Modesto, I figured I'd help out. If you use any of the direction services online, (mapquest, google, yahoo), just put "sylvan and forest glenn modesto ca" for the destination and you'll be good. If you'd prefer more personal directions (and are coming from Salinas) shoot me an e-mail.

Mo-Town Ham Jam

I couldn't wait 3 days. Let it be known now. We're having our first ever CaliBMX jam, and it's going down at the Modesto bikepark, the Sunday before Thanksgiving. There's also a jam in Gilroy that Saturday, if you're in the area I'm sure it'll be fun, show some love for Aitken.

We'll have awesome prizes, and refreshments. Best-trick, a spine comp, and a foot-down comp will be going down. I'll be keeping everyone updated.

Back Up!

Well I finally have gotten things squared away with my web-host and CaliBMX is officially back online. My apologies for such a long wait, and long down-time. We have a lot going on here at CaliBMX and have very exciting news which I will share with all of you within the next 3 days.

We will also be transferring web-hosts very soon, but this should not affect the website what-so-ever. Please keep checking back for those important updates.

Everyone should know and understand that CaliBMX is back and we're as serious as can be. We have some big plans for 2009 and we will need the help from all of you riders around California!
